CATS is a famous Andrew Lloyd-Webber musical about anthro cats who inhabit a junkyard and sing a lot. Based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, the show tells the story of various members of the Jellicle tribe of cats over one night, the night of the Jellicle Ball. The show won seven Tony awards, and is the longest running show on Broadway. It also spawned the hit song "Memory," as well as a film adaptation staring Elaine Paige and Ken Page.

Characterization[]

Because Cats is a musical, the cast consists of several primary characters and a host of named but undeveloped secondary characters. This ambiguity of canon allows for more flexibility of writing, and of the rapid adoption of fanon notions, such as the cats Munkustrap and Rum Tum Tugger being the sons of Old Deutoronomy, the leader of the tribe. However, the ambiguity of character also allows for the ignoring of fanon, as there is little definite canon. This can often lead to great differences of characterization between stories and may cause difficulty for an agent determining crimes against characters.

In Badfic[]

Many Cats badfics centers around a new cat coming into the tribe and claiming the heart of one or another of the more popular canon characters. However, the fandom is quite small, and so the lack of fanfic in general makes the badfic less likely to stand out.

Another popular category of badfic is bad slash, often pairing Rum Tum Tugger and Mr. Mistofelees despite the former's known (and canonically established) fondness for queens and the latter's canonically established youth.

Agents Native to this Continuum[]

Missions in this Continuum[]

All reports are listed alphabetically by agent name, in the case of agents with multiple missions, or by mission name.

Agents Specialized in this Continuum[]

Agents are considered specialized in a continuum when they have handled at least three missions in the canon. Most of these agents are also active/specialized in other continua. It is often not the agents who decide where their specialty lies, but the Flowers that keep assigning missions to them.
