So Disney's stance on Star Wars canon has been apparent for a while now - the movies and some side stuff are canon while the EU has got shunted into the Legends continuity. I suppose the bluntest way to put it is the entire EU is now glorified fanfic, but the PPC seems to be approaching it like say, the difference between movieverse and bookverse LOTR - but the nature of the Force seems to be a question mark there. Quite simply there's a whole range of abilities with the Force, not to mention every non-Jedi or Sith faction, almost every technique etc. that exists in only one of the mutually exclusive canon "branches". What happens if say, a Force-using agent whose existence is now retroactively part of the Legends continuity enters a movieverse fic, since those will be inevitable when Episode VII happens? Do all his powers stop working? Does every EU countermeasure become useless? If he's the wrong species does he just die instantly? We seem to have decided not much would change about how the PPC would tackle that 'verse, but since I'm working on a mission or two and also just pondering over the implications I've been trying to figure out how it works. Anyone got opinions on the matter? [[User:Ekyl|Ekyl]] ([[User talk:Ekyl|talk]]) 12:49, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

The Force and Split Continuities

Do we now have to charge any time something from the old Expanded Universe appears? We seem to have decided not much would change about how the PPC would tackle that 'verse, but since I'm working on a mission or two and also just pondering over the implications I've been trying to figure out how it works.
